Preschool Division

Our preschool curriculum is aligned with the Ghana Education Service (GES) standards for early childhood education. We focus on creating a solid foundation for lifelong learning through a multi-faceted approach. Key areas of development include:

• Play-Based Learning: We encourage exploration and discovery in a safe and stimulating environment, allowing children to learn through interactive play.
• Language and Literacy: Children are introduced to phonics, vocabulary building, and storytelling to develop strong communication skills.
• Numeracy: We introduce basic mathematical concepts, including counting, number recognition, and problem-solving, through engaging activities.
• Creative Arts: Our program nurtures creativity through drawing, painting, music, and movement, helping children express themselves.
• Personal and Social Development: We foster social skills, emotional intelligence, and good manners, preparing children for a collaborative learning journey.

Primary School

The Primary School curriculum at Sunset Montessori follows the GES framework, designed to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded education. Our dedicated teachers guide students through a curriculum that builds essential knowledge and skills. Core subjects include:

• English Language: Focusing on grammar, comprehension, and effective communication.
• Mathematics: Covering key concepts in arithmetic, geometry, and data analysis.
• Integrated Science: Exploring the natural world and fostering a spirit of inquiry.
• Religious and Moral Education (R.M.E.): Instilling ethical values and respect for diversity.
• Our World Our People (OWOP): Teaching citizenship, history, and geography to build informed and responsible citizens.

Junior High School (JHS)

Our Junior High School program is structured to rigorously prepare students for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E.). Following the GES curriculum, we provide a challenging and supportive academic environment that ensures our students are well-prepared for the next stage of their education. The curriculum includes:

• Core Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies.
• Other Subjects: We also offer a range of other subjects, including Information and Communication Technology (ICT), French, Ghanaian Language and Culture, and Basic Design and Technology (BDT), to provide a holistic education.

Our goal is to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring our students excel in the B.E.C.E. and beyond.
